Land down in Camden Town

I recently visited Camden Town, home to jazz singer Amy Winehouse, in North-West London and absolutely loved the place. Camden is renowned for its creative flair, its markets and music scene. As you walk through the place, you’ll find plenty of colourful buildings, pubs, bars, tattoo shops and stalls.

Camden Markets
Also referred to as ‘Camden Lock’, it’s the fourth-most popular visitor attraction in London, attracting approximately 100,000 people each weekend. There’s a large mixture of temporary and fixed stalls, selling things such as food, clothing and crafts. There are fewer stalls nowadays, due to the increase local supermarkets. But the markets are still rammed with visitors. The markets include:

• Camden Lock Village
• Buck Street Market
• Electric Ballroom
• Inverness Street Market

Music
If you’re into your music and enjoy live gigs, this is the place for you. There won’t be an evening out in Camden where there isn’t a great gig to go to. The best venue’s for a good gig would tend to be these:

• The World’s End
